As part of Nitrase Therapeutics’ growth and goal of becoming a platform company with a pipeline of targets and drugs, we are seeking to recruit a Research Associate – Assay Development. This entry-level position requires enthusiasm and a strong work ethic, the ability to learn new biology and methods quickly, and to problem-solve creatively. The Research Associate will work to screen compounds that target our novel enzymes, to develop new assays to measure the activity and characteristics of new enzymes as they are discovered, and to help develop and conduct biomarker assays in various tissues. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and learn the many steps involved in drug discovery and development. 


  • Develop, optimize, and conduct assays required to support Nitrase Therapeutics drug discovery efforts 
  • Collect, analyze, and present experimental data regularly at team meetings 
  • Maintain clear and complete experimental records with an electronic lab notebook 
  • Support project needs as they arise 


  • B.S./B.A. in biological sciences with 0-2 years industry experience 
  • Creative problem-solver 
  • Desire to acquire knowledge and skills in a new area of biology 
  • Experience with ELISAs, Western Blots, and automation is a plus 
  • Careful bench skills (pipetting, making solutions, writing and following protocols) 
  • Ability to communicate ideas and data in a clear and concise manner 
  • Strong organization, record keeping, and time management skills 
  • Attention to lab safety 
  • Ability to thrive as an integrated player in a small team environment 
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, changing environment with high degree of self-motivation
